Versioning and deprecation
Semantic versioning, compatibility rules and the deprecation window.
Rules
Patch (2.0.x): documentation and code-list additions only.
Minor (2.x): new optional fields, new messages, new code values. Receivers must ignore unknown fields (all schemas allow additional properties).
Major (3.0): renamed or removed fields, changed meaning. Event types carry the major version (…v2).
Removed code values are deprecated for 12 months before removal; deprecated values still validate with a warning.
Legacy v1.x
v1.0 and v1.1 documents (RFQ, QUOTE, PO, PO_ACK, ASN, COA, INVENTORY, INVOICE) remain valid through the adapter until 31 Dec 2027.
