Identification: GLN, GTIN, SSCC, LEI
Which identifier goes where, check digits, and how lots and serials are expressed.
Parties and locations, GLN
Every legal party and every physical site has a 13-digit GS1 Global Location Number. The envelope sender/receiver carry the legal party GLN; ship_to, ship_from and facility_gln carry site GLNs.
Optional LEI (ISO 17442) and D-U-N-S identify the legal entity for finance and KYC.
Items, GTIN and item_id
item_id is mandatory and is the number your counterpart knows. Add gtin (GTIN-8/12/13/14) whenever the item is GS1-identified; bulk ingredients often are not.
ingredient links the item to the NutraB2B ingredient master (Latin binomial, plant part, typical HS code and marker).
Logistic units, SSCC
Each pallet and each case/drum gets an 18-digit SSCC. In ASN.packages a child unit points to its pallet through parent_sscc; contents sit on the lowest level.
Lots and serials
lot_number is the producer's batch. In EPCIS it becomes urn:epc:class:lgtin:<company prefix>.<item ref>.<lot>. Lots are the key that joins CoA, hold, genealogy, recall and passport.
Digital Link
Finished products resolve through GS1 Digital Link: https://id.<brand>/01/<GTIN>/10/<lot>. The PRODUCT_PASSPORT message publishes what that link shows.
